Led by founder and principal designer Craig Violich, CVD Graphics brings over 20 years of professional design experience, with a core focus on book publishing — from cover design and internal typesetting to eBook formatting and image handling. Craig’s career spans many design roles at major international publishers, including Hachette New Zealand, Reed Elsevier, and Pan MacMillan, as well as working with leading New Zealand publishers such as Upstart Press, Bateman Books, Allen & Unwin, and New Holland Publishers to name a few.

Craig has designed more than 400 books, including bestsellers, award-winning cookbooks, biographies, children’s books, and educational titles. His work has helped sell over 1.5 million copies worldwide and is trusted by authors, editors, and publishers alike for its clarity, precision, and strong visual impact.
